Vantafort is a browser-based platform for satellite situational awareness. It is free to use and has no signup. This page explains the small amount of data involved when you visit, who handles it, and what rights you have. The short version: Vantafort itself does not collect anything that identifies you. Our host keeps standard request logs (including IP addresses) for 30 days, which we do not use to track or profile visitors.
What we collect (and what we don't)
What we collect
Anonymous usage stats, via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. The numbers are aggregated: visits, referrer, country, device category. None of it is tied to you as an individual.
Standard infrastructure logs. Our host (AWS, via CloudFront) records HTTP requests in the normal way: IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp. These exist for security, abuse prevention, debugging, and performance. They are retained for 30 days and then discarded. Vantafort does not query these logs to identify or follow visitors.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, no signup, no login, no email addresses, no passwords.
- No cookies on the Vantafort site.
- No browser fingerprints.
- No precise location.
- No cross-site tracking.
- Nothing we sell, license, or share with advertisers.
What stays on your device
Vantafort uses your browser's localStorage to remember things you set yourself: watchlists, visibility toggles, view preferences. This data lives in your browser. It is not transmitted to our servers and we cannot read it. Clearing your site data wipes it.
Who else touches the data
Two infrastructure providers sit between your browser and Vantafort:
- Amazon Web Services. Hosts the application, serves it via CloudFront (the CDN), and holds the public datasets it relies on (satellite catalogues, reference data).
- Cloudflare. Anonymous web analytics only. The analytics script beacons aggregated counts (visits, referrer, country, device category) to Cloudflare. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no IP-tied request logs.
That is the full list. No advertisers, no data brokers, no marketing networks, no tracking pixels, no third-party SDKs.
Your rights
Under GDPR (EU and UK), CCPA (California), and the Australian Privacy Principles, you can ask what data is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice, because Vantafort holds no account data, almost any such request resolves to "we have nothing tied to you." The exception is short-lived infrastructure logs, which expire on their own in 30 days.
If you want to ask anyway, email red@vantafort.com.
You can also opt out of analytics yourself, at any time, by blocking static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser or with an extension.
